What is the Difference Between Cheap and Quality CBD Oil? 1000 600 The Farmula

What is the Difference Between Cheap and Quality CBD Oil?

If you’re new to the CBD oil scene, you may be wondering why some CBD oils are much more expensive than others. Is there a real difference between cheap and quality CBD oil? Yes of course there is! Generally speaking, you get what you pay for. So, if the price is super cheap, chances are the product won’t be top notch. But, this doesn’t mean the most expensive is the highest quality either.

As you shop for CBD oil, there are a couple things to be on the lookout for to help you identify whether it is a cheap or quality product. But before we discuss the differences between cheap and quality CBD oil, let’s first discuss the process of making quality CBD oil and why it is so expensive.

Grow Costs Can Contribute to the Cost of Quality CBD

For starters, you want to know where and how the cannabis that the CBD was extracted from was grown. In order to get high quality CBD, you have to first start with high-quality hemp that is grown in farms that use organic practices. This means that no additives or chemical-infused fertilizers are used anywhere near the soil. Organic practices tend to cost more, making the cost to grow high quality hemp more expensive.

Also, keep in mind that the licensing fees and taxes that legal growers have to pay are high, so this also affects the cost of quality CBD. In the UK, the government only allows a certain number of farmers to have a cannabis growing license, so there isn’t a huge supply of domestically grown hemp. Thus, the short supply drives the price of CBD and other cannabis products up higher as well.

Manufacturing CBD Oil Post Harvest is Costly

After the hemp is harvested, the CBD must be extracted then made into CBD oil. This process is expensive, especially when done correctly. The process of extracting the CBD and other cannabinoids requires pricey equipment and high-paid workers who know what they are doing. After extracting the CBD, it then must go through a purification process, especially when making CBD extract.

So, although it seems like CBD oil would be an easy thing to make, it is important to remember the process is extensive and requires expensive equipment and people to do it.

Ok, So What is The Difference Between Cheap and Quality CBD Oil?

Now that we talked about why the process of making CBD oil is so expensive, let us now talk about some of the differences between cheap and quality CBD oil. Like we said before, you get what you pay for. When you buy a cheap product, you can’t expect it to be the same as a premium top quality product. It doesn’t mean you have to go for the most expensive product out there, but it means that you want to make sure you purchase your CBD oil from a company that does not compromise standards and quality.

So, what are the differences?

  1.       The source of the CBD: as we mentioned above, high quality CBD oils are sourced from organically grown hemp plants.
  2.       How the CBD is extracted: the method of extraction matters. It is also important to pay attention to how it is processed. Low quality CBD products are usually processed with toxic solvents like butane, pentane and propane. Quality CBD is not processed with any added chemicals tor toxins.
  3.       Thirdparty lab testing: the company that you are purchasing your CBD oil from should provide the lab test results on their website. This confirms that all the products that are going into your CBD oil are thoroughly tested by a third party.
  4.       NonGMO: quality CBD oils should be non-GMO.

If you are on the hunt for a high-quality CBD oil, check out our products. At The Farmula, we source our hemp from organic farms here in the UK and we use the safest extraction methods without adding any unsafe or toxic chemicals. All our CBD is tested by a third party, and we ensure that our products are natural, safe and high quality. For more information about our products or CBD in general, contact us today!

What is Full Spectrum CBD Oil? 1000 606 The Farmula

What is Full Spectrum CBD Oil?

If you are on the hunt for a CBD product, you may be wondering what it means when the label says full-spectrum or full-plant CBD and whether it is the right product for you.

To understand what the phrase “full-spectrum CBD” really means, we must first talk about the cannabis plant and break it down a bit. The cannabis plant contains several compounds that all have unique benefits. These can be broken down as follows:

  1.       Cannabinoids: the most used and talked about cannabinoids found in the cannabis plants are CBD and THC. But, did you know there are more than 100 cannabinoids found in the plant? It’s pretty fascinating to think about. CBD and THC are the two cannabinoids that are responsible for the therapeutic and psychoactive effects. The other cannabinoids are responsible for other effects.
  2.       Terpenes: terpenes are the compounds responsible for the way each strand of cannabis smells and tastes. There are more than 150 terpenes found in marijuana plants, all of which have different smells and benefits. Terpenes can be found in all kinds of plants, including fruits, vegetables and herbs. In fact, they are what give lemons their vibrant citrusy smell and flavor and lavender its calming effects.
  3.       Flavonoids: cannabis plants also contain flavonoids. Like terpenes, these are present in all kinds of plants, including fruits, vegetables and herbs. Also like terpenes, they have therapeutic effects, including anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and neuroprotective properties.

The term full-spectrum CBD refers to CBD that contains small amounts of all three of these compounds. Even though full-spectrum CBD cannot get you high, it does contain trace amounts of THC. If this is a concern, broad spectrum CBD (which just removes the THC but keeps the other compounds) or CBD isolate (which is pure CBD without any other compounds) may be a better choice for you.

What are the benefits of Full-Spectrum CBD?

Ok, so now you may be wondering if you should purchase full-spectrum CBD, broad spectrum CBD, or CBD isolate. As you are making your choice, it is important to note that although CBD is very beneficial on its own, the therapeutic effects associated with the cannabinoid are stronger when they are combined with other cannabis compounds, including terpenes, flavonoids and others. This is called the entourage effect.

Because of this, the benefits associated with CBD operate at their highest potential in the full-spectrum form. While broad spectrum CBD does include other cannabis compounds, the THC in full-spectrum CBD enhances the anti-inflammatory and pain reducing benefits of CBD.

So, if you are looking for the most potent form of CBD, full spectrum is the way to go.

How to know you’re getting the best full spectrum CBD?

If you are in the market for full-spectrum CBD, it is important to do a little research on the company and products before pulling the trigger. With so many companies popping up and selling CBD products, it is important to know what to look for.

When you are making a purchase, here are a few things to consider:

  1.       Make sure the company you are purchasing your CBD from is reputable and has good reviews.
  2.       Make sure the company has all its products tested by a third party to ensure they are high quality and up to standards.
  3.       You want to go with a company that sources its hemp from farms that practice organic growing practices.
  4.       Make sure the full-spectrum CBD is free from additives, chemicals, and other toxins.

What is CBG (Cannabigerol) Used For 1080 480 The Farmula

What is CBG (Cannabigerol) Used For

CBD has become widely used for several health and wellness benefits, and as more people are learning about its effects, more terms associated with cannabis and CBD are surfacing. While most of us are familiar with CBD and THC, there is so much more to know about the cannabis plant and the hundreds of compounds found inside it. One of these compounds that is worth learning about is called Cannabigerol (CBG).

What is Cannabigerol (CBG)?

CBG is considered a minor cannabinoid because only a small percentage is found in the cannabis plant. It is considered a precursor to the other cannabinoids because when the acidic form of CBG is heated, it breaks down and creates CBG, CBD, CBC, and THC.

CBG is known to have several health benefits because of its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. CBG interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system by interacting with CB1 and CB2 receptors which are used to regulate mood, pain response and appetite. While more research needs to be done, it appears that CBG interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid receptors differently than CBD or THC, so it produces different effects.

So, what is CBG used for?

Like CBD, CBG does not get you high. Also like CBD, it is believed to have anti-inflammatory effects. Although there has not been a significant amount of research done on CBG yet, it is believed to have several health benefits, including:

  •         Improving symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease. According to study results, CBG helps reduce inflammation associated with inflammatory bowel disease.
  •         Helping to treat glaucoma. It is believed that the CBG in cannabis can effectively treat glaucoma because it reduces intraocular pressure.
  •         Treats bacterial infections by killing dangerous bacteria in the body.
  •         Treats bladder dysfunctions.
  •         Effective treatment for cancer. According to research, CBG may help reduce the growth of cancer cells and other tumors, thus making an effective treatment for cancer.
  •         Helps increase appetite. It is believed that CBG can stimulate the appetite, which makes it beneficial for people with cancer and other medical conditions that cause appetite loss.

There has been a lot of research done on both THC and CBD, but research on CBG is still in its infancy. Because of this, we are still learning about its potential health benefits compared to other cannabinoids such as CBD. We have a feeling more research will start popping up as so many people are expressing interest in this newly discovered cannabis compound. Stay tuned as we follow along!

How Long Does It Take for CBD Oil to Work? 800 600 The Farmula

How Long Does It Take for CBD Oil to Work?

When we need relief of certain pains and ailments, we all want to know how quickly that relief can happen. If you have heard that CBD oil may be something that can help alleviate your symptoms, it only makes sense that you would want to know how long it takes for CBD oil to actually work. In short, the answer is…quick! Although, it depends.

CBD comes in a variety of forms, all of which are absorbed at different rates, so we need to evaluate the most popular types of CBD and how quickly each form works.

CBD Capsules

CBD capsules are taken orally and are a popular way to take CBD. But, because capsules are ingested and the contents have to be digested and absorbed, it can take longer to feel the effects when taken this way. When we swallow CBD oil capsules, the CBD is filtered through the liver before being entered into the bloodstream. This process can take longer for the effects to be felt, but it still doesn’t take that long to work. People generally feel the effects of CBD when taken via capsules anywhere from 20 minutes to one hour, depending on when they last ate and how well their metabolism works.

CBD capsules are a great way to start or finish your day and relieve ongoing symptoms. They are also known to have longer lasting effects. However, if you are looking to alleviate chronic pain fast, capsules may not be the best option for you.

CBD Topicals

When you apply CBD to the skin, you may feel immediate results targeting the pain point. However, if you are using CBD topically for insomnia or to help with stress or anxiety, it may take a bit longer for you to feel the effects.

CBD Tinctures

When you use a tincture and drop CBD oil under the tongue, the effects are felt almost immediately. The full effects can take anywhere from 15-60 minutes to set in, but when you put CBD under the tongue, the compounds are absorbed so quickly that the effects happen almost instantly.

Dosage Matters

The amount of CBD you use every day will determine how quickly you will feel it working. As with most things, the higher the dose and the more often you use CBD oil, the quicker you feel its effects.

So What is the Final Answer …How Long Does It Take for CBD to Work?

Well…in short, this depends on several factors as we listed a few above. The takeaway is that it depends on what you are trying to treat and how you want to treat it. As of now, there are different forms of taking CBD and each method is believed to work at a different speed depending on several factors.

If you are new to taking CBD and want to know what is right for you, we can help! If you contact The Farmula, we can help you determine what type of CBD product is right for you.

Where to Get Pure CBD? 1080 696 The Farmula

Where to Get Pure CBD?

When you are purchasing CBD products, it is important to ensure you are getting high quality, pure CBD. But, how can you be sure? Before you purchase a CBD product, check the ingredient list to make sure it is THC-free. You should also make sure the company you are purchasing your products from provides lab results to ensure you are getting the purest form of CBD possible.

Organically Farmed Hemp Makes a Difference

When you are looking for quality CBD products, it is important to know where the CBD came from. Hemp absorbs everything from the soil it grows in, including vitamins and minerals as well as toxic chemicals. So, it is important to know where the hemp was grown and what types of chemicals were used in the soil.

At The Farmula, for instance, we source our CBD from organically farmed hemp to ensure its quality. We also collect lab test certificates from all our suppliers and conduct our own testing at an independent third-party laboratory to make sure the CBD we use in our products meets our high standards.

Check the Full Ingredient List

When you are purchasing CBD products, it is also important to look at the complete list of ingredients, not just the CBD. You want to make sure all the ingredients are natural and/or organic. Check to make sure there aren’t any unnecessary preservatives, additives or emulsifiers.

Mother nature provides everything we need to achieve the highest level of health and wellness, so stick with products that stay true to her and you will be in good hands!

When you are purchasing a CBD product, check for the following:

  •         Naturally flavoured
  •         Sourced from organically grown hemp
  •         Non-GMO
  •         Provides third party lab testing to ensure quality and potency
  •         No pesticides, herbicides, solvents or chemical fertilizers used to grow the hemp
  •         Non-psychoactive- THC free

What are the Benefits of Pure CBD?

There are several health and wellness benefits that have been associated with CBD, including:

  •         Reduce chronic pain
  •         Help ease anxiety
  •         Help with insomnia
  •         Reduce signs of eczema and acne
  •         Reduce inflammation
  •         Help treat arthritis

If you are looking into purchasing CBD products to help treat a condition, it is important to invest in high-quality, pure CBD products to maximize the benefits.

Are There Low-Quality CBD Products?

Yes. As with anything else, there are companies out there selling products that only have trace amounts of cannabinoids in them. It is definitely worthwhile to spend a little more money on higher quality CBD and to do your research before making your next purchase. If you come across CBD products where the price seems too good to be true, chances are it is!

If you are looking for high quality CBD products in the UK, The Farmula has you covered! We are committed to producing the highest quality CBD products for our clients.

UK Companies that Make CBD Oil 1048 453 The Farmula

UK Companies that Make CBD Oil

CBD has taken the health and wellness market by storm and has quickly become one of the most sought-after products in the UK. Several companies throughout the UK have begun to make and sell CBD oil. It is important that when you are shopping for your CBD products you choose a company that has high standards and produces high quality, naturally sourced CBD products.

There are large and small brands that make CBD oil and as you continue your search for a brand you love, here are a few things to consider…

  1.       Is the hemp used organically grown? When you are choosing a company to purchase your CBD oil from, make sure it is sourcing its hemp from a farm that uses organic practices. This will ensure that the hemp your CBD is extracted from is not grown with pesticides, herbicides, additives, or other harmful toxins.
  2.       Are all the ingredients used in the CBD products natural? It is important that all the ingredients (not just the CBD itself) used to make the CBD oil and other products are also 100 percent natural and free from pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals.
  3.       Does the company share its third-party lab results? Before purchasing your CBD oil and other CBD products, make sure the company not only has its CBD tested by a third party laboratory, but make sure it also shares the reports on its website.
  4.       What are other people saying about their products? When you go to purchase CBD oil in the UK, read through the product reviews to see what other people are saying. Just because a company is well known, it does not mean it’s the best. In fact, some of the new, smaller, craft CBD companies in the UK are where it’s at because they are dedicated to their craft and committed to producing the highest quality products for their community of loyal customers.
  5.       Price isn’t the end all, be all: When purchasing CBD oil, it is important to purchase a competitively priced product. Of course, you do not need to go with the most expensive product out there. Remember, just because it is a well-known brand or highly priced, it doesn’t mean it is the best on the market. Also, do not go with the cheapest. This could mean the company is cutting corners somewhere. Look at the product and the company, not the price tag!

So, what companies in the UK are making CBD oil?

We’ve created a list of some of the companies that make and sell CBD oil here in the UK.

What is a CBD Tincture? 1080 765 The Farmula

What is a CBD Tincture?

Did you know that there are thousands of ways we can administer CBD? CBD can be found in practically everything, from beauty products we put on our skin to chocolate bars and other edibles we ingest.

CBD tinctures are a highly concentrated form of CBD and are one of the most popular ways of administering CBD.

So, what are CBD Tinctures and How Do They Work?

The term tincture refers to an extract that is put under the tongue. Tinctures usually come in a glass bottle with a dropper. When it comes to CBD tinctures, they are usually made by steeping hemp in a plant-based oil or other substance to extract the CBD from the plant.

How Do You Use a CBD Tincture?

To get the maximum effects of a CBD tincture, you want to drop it under your tongue and hold it there for at least 90 seconds to two minutes. This helps it to be absorbed by the mucous membranes so it can be delivered right to your bloodstream. If you swallow the tincture too quickly instead of letting it be absorbed, it will have to go through the digestion process which takes longer.

By allowing the tincture to be absorbed under the tongue, you will experience the effects of the CBD within about 15 minutes. The effects themselves should last six to eight hours. Tinctures are good for people who are looking for immediate relief. They are one of the fastest ways of administering CBD to the body. The only way that has faster results is vaping. Tinctures are a good alternative for people who do not want to smoke it but want fast results. They also offer a more discreet way of administering CBD.

CBD Tinctures …Dosage

Tinctures are very concentrated, so it is important to pay attention to the dosage. A little goes a long way! When you purchase a CBD tincture, it should come with a clearly marked dropper (usually 0.5 or 1 millilitre) so you can be sure to take the right dose. The amount you should take will depend on what you are using it for, so make sure to read the instructions on the label.

What are CBD Tinctures Used For?

Just like all CBD products, people use tinctures for a variety of reasons, including:

  •         Help with anxiety and depression
  •         Enhance mood
  •         Reduce stress
  •         Help with insomnia
  •         Help with inflammation
  •         Reduce pain
  •         Help with headache
  •         Help with seizures
  •         Reduce symptoms of arthritis

Where to Buy CBD Tinctures in the UK?

When you are looking for a company to purchase your CBD drops from, make sure you find a CBD company that sources its CBD from organic hemp farms. You should also check and see what other ingredients are in the tincture to make sure it is natural and does not contain additives.

At The Farmula, we sell full spectrum CBD tinctures as well as flavoured tinctures. To learn more, browse our site or contact us for help! All our products are made with natural ingredients so we can bring you the most pure, natural products possible.

organic
Is CBD Organic? 1080 480 The Farmula

Is CBD Organic?

In order to understand if CBD oil is organic, it is important to understand what that means. The term “organic” has become increasingly popular as more people are searching for clean products, free from pesticides and other harmful toxins. According to the US Department of Agriculture, the term “organic” is used to describe any product that is grown without use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, or other toxic chemicals.

So, what is Organic CBD?

When talking about “organic CBD,” the same principle applies. But, in order to determine if CBD is organic, we must first look at where and how the hemp plant itself was grown and if it was grown organically. If the hemp plant itself was grown in organic soil, free from pesticides and other unnatural toxins, that is the first step. The next step is to make sure the CBD oil was processed without synthetic additives. When both of these steps are taken we have organic CBD!

Is Organic CBD Better than non-Organic?

This is something you can decide for yourself. What you should know is that organically grown hemp and CBD products are considered “cleaner” because they do not contain harmful pesticides and fertilizers. If you see the term “organically grown hemp” on your CBD products, you know they are more natural, pure products that have not been exposed to toxins or genetically modified.

How Do You Find the Highest Quality Organic CBD?

Ultimately, you want your CBD to be in its purest form to have the most benefits. A few other things to look for when purchasing CBD include:

  1.       Find out where the hemp is sourced from and if the farm uses organic practices. Most companies that use organically grown hemp showcase it on their website because it is something to be proud of.
  2.       See if the company you are purchasing your CBD from has lab tests from third parties. This should also be published on their website.
  3.       Look at the other ingredients and products used in the CBD product to make sure they are also natural and organically sourced.

Is Full Spectrum CBD Oil Organic?

Full spectrum CBD is basically CBD in its purest form because it contains all the cannabinoids, vitamins, minerals, protein, and terpenes. It is believed that when these are all extracted together, they work together to enhance the benefits of the CBD. For full spectrum CBD to be considered organic, it must follow the same guidelines we mentioned above. Both the hemp plant itself must be organically grown (free from pesticides) and the full spectrum CBD must be processed without additives or chemicals.

What are the Benefits of Organic CBD?

Several health benefits have been associated with CBD oil, including:

  •         Stress and anxiety reduction
  •         Reducing chronic pain
  •         Improves sleep
  •         Relaxing and calming effects

CBD is not addictive and the body does not build a tolerance to it. So, unlike many other products out there, the effects of CBD are not reduced over time.

Where Can I Buy Organic CBD in the UK?

The Farmula sells organic CBD. All the products we use are 100 percent natural and organic and free from preservatives, additives, emulsifiers, e-numbers and colour enhancers. How is CBD Oil Made? 1080 720 The Farmula

How is CBD Oil Made?

CBD or cannabidiol is one of many substances found in the marijuana plant. It has gained a ton of popularity in recent years because of its medicinal purposes such as reducing pain, anxiety, and insomnia. CBD can be made into an oil which can then be ingested under the tongue for quick relief or can be rubbed directly onto the skin to help reduce chronic pain.

How it is Made…

If you are learning about CBD oil and are wanting to try it, it is important to know how it is made so you can feel good about what you are ingesting or putting onto your body. We have put together a simple step by step process of how CBD oil is created. For questions about our CBD oil, contact us today.

  1.       Planting the hemp plant: the soil is prepped and tested for herbicides before planning hemp seeds. When it is time to plant the seeds, they can be planted as close as four inches apart, which means you can plant a lot of plants in a small space. Once the seeds are planted, they sprout within 60 days, growing rapidly.
  2.       Harvesting the plant: CBD and other cannabinoids such as THC are usually found in the resin glands of the trichome of the plant (in the flower). To be officially harvested, a sample will be tested by the state’s department of agriculture to make sure the farm is following the right safety standards. After the crop is cleared for pesticides and officially harvested, it will need to be hung in a well-ventilated area so it can dry. After it is fully dry, the flower will be shipped to a manufacturer so the CBD can be extracted.
  3.       Extraction: this step is where the CBD is extracted from the flower so it can be turned into an oil. There are a few different ways to extract the CBD from the plant, including ethanol extraction, CO2 extraction, and oil extraction. Each manufacturer will have its own way of extracting the cannabidiol.
  4.       Making the CBD Oil: once the CBD is extracted and is in its purest form, , it will be combined with a carrier oil such as coconut, grapeseed or hempseed oil. Coconut and hempseed oils are known to be the best carriers for full-spectrum CBD oil because of their natural abundance in saturated fats.
  5.       Testing and packaging: after the CBD oil is formed, it is sent to a lab to be tested for purity and potency. Once it passes approval, it is done and ready for use.

CBD oil is becoming increasingly popular as more people are experiencing its many medicinal benefits. As an oil, it can be rubbed onto the body to help with joint pains and other problems, or it can be ingested under the tongue to help ease symptoms associated with anxiety and depression.
